BlockMyApps is designed to help you manage your own screen time and app usage. We believe that information about how you use your device should stay private wherever possible.
This Privacy Policy explains what information BlockMyApps processes, what may be shared with service providers, and the choices and rights available to you.
BlockMyApps is operated by Oleg Tatarciuc (“BlockMyApps”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
For privacy questions, contact us at support@blockmyapps.com.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the BlockMyApps iOS and iPadOS application;
- the BlockMyApps website at blockmyapps.com;
- communications you send to us, such as support requests.
It does not apply to third-party apps, websites, or services that you access independently, including apps that you choose to block with BlockMyApps.
2. Screen Time and App-Blocking Data
BlockMyApps uses Apple-provided Screen Time technologies, including frameworks such as Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity, to provide features such as:
- Quick Block;
- app and category groups;
- scheduled blocking;
- usage limits;
- temporary access;
- screen-time related insights.
Information required for these features may include your selected apps or categories, schedules, blocking settings, usage-limit settings, and Screen Time-related activity needed to operate the features you configure.
This information is designed to be processed on your device through Apple's privacy-preserving Screen Time frameworks.
BlockMyApps does not use your Screen Time data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not use it to build an advertising profile about you.
BlockMyApps does not read the content inside apps you block. We do not access your messages, photos, passwords, contacts, or the content you view inside third-party apps simply because those apps are selected for blocking.
Unless you deliberately send information to us as part of a support request, BlockMyApps does not upload the contents of your app selections or detailed Screen Time activity to our servers.
Apple controls the operating-system permissions required for Screen Time features. You can change or revoke those permissions through iOS or iPadOS settings, although doing so may prevent BlockMyApps from functioning correctly.
3. Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase BlockMyApps Premium or another paid feature, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive your full payment-card details.
We use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status and premium entitlements. RevenueCat may process information such as:
- an app-specific user or installation identifier;
- subscription product and entitlement information;
- purchase and renewal events;
- subscription status;
- app and device information needed to provide subscription services;
- technical information such as IP address as part of providing its service.
This information is used to determine whether paid features should be available to you and to support subscription functionality.
RevenueCat acts as a service provider processing data for app developers. You can review RevenueCat's privacy information at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple's handling of App Store purchases is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
4. Information You Choose to Send Us
If you contact us for support or feedback, we may receive information that you choose to provide, such as:
- your email address;
- your name, if you include it;
- the contents of your message;
- screenshots or screen recordings;
- app version or device information you provide;
- diagnostic details that you choose to share.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not necessary for us to answer your request.
We use support information only to respond to you, investigate problems, improve BlockMyApps, and maintain a record where reasonably necessary.
5. Diagnostics and Technical Information
Apple may provide developers with crash reports, diagnostics, or aggregated App Store analytics depending on your device and privacy settings.
Where we receive this information, we use it to:
- identify crashes and technical problems;
- improve reliability and performance;
- understand general app usage and installation trends.
We do not use diagnostic information for targeted advertising.
6. Website Information
When you visit blockmyapps.com, our hosting or infrastructure providers may automatically process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include:
- IP address;
- browser and device type;
- requested pages;
- timestamps;
- basic server or security logs.
We may also use privacy-respecting analytics if they are enabled on the website.
We do not sell website visitor data or use BlockMyApps Screen Time data for website advertising.
If we add analytics, cookies, or other tracking technologies that materially change how personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated and, where legally required, consent will be requested.
7. How We Use Information
We process information only where it is reasonably necessary to:
- provide BlockMyApps features;
- apply your blocking schedules and usage limits;
- manage purchases and premium access;
- restore purchases;
- respond to support requests;
- maintain app security and reliability;
- diagnose technical problems;
- comply with legal obligations;
- protect our rights and users.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use Screen Time information for targeted advertising.
8. Legal Bases for Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: where processing is needed to provide BlockMyApps or paid features you request.
- Legitimate interests: where necessary to maintain, secure, support, and improve the app and website, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: where applicable law requires your consent, including for certain optional technologies or information you choose to provide.
- Legal obligation: where processing is required to comply with applicable law.
9. When We Share Information
We may share limited information with service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate BlockMyApps.
These may include:
- Apple, for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and Apple platform services;
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management;
- website hosting, infrastructure, or security providers;
- professional advisers or authorities where required by law.
Service providers may process information only according to their own legal obligations and, where applicable, our instructions and agreements with them.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the rights and safety of BlockMyApps, our users, or others.
10. International Data Transfers
Some service providers, including Apple and RevenueCat, may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms provided by the relevant service provider or otherwise required by law.
11. Data Retention
On-device BlockMyApps settings and related information remain on your device until you change them, delete them, or remove the app, subject to normal iOS behavior and backups.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal requirements.
Subscription information may be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, or us as necessary to manage purchases, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
We do not retain personal information longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the right to:
- request access to personal information about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request portability of certain information;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because much of BlockMyApps' Screen Time information is processed locally on your device, we may not possess that information and therefore may not be able to access, export, or delete it on your behalf.
You can contact us at support@blockmyapps.com to exercise a privacy right relating to information we hold.
13. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Where applicable state privacy laws give you additional rights, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information and exercise other rights provided by law.
BlockMyApps does not sell personal information and does not share Screen Time information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
14. Children
BlockMyApps is intended as a personal productivity and screen-time management tool and is not specifically directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, contact us at support@blockmyapps.com.
If a minor uses BlockMyApps, a parent or guardian should review whether the app and any paid subscription are appropriate for them.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information we process.
However, no software, device, network, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
One of the main privacy protections in BlockMyApps is data minimization: Screen Time and blocking information is kept on-device wherever the app can function without sending it elsewhere.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
The app and website may contain links to third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
BlockMyApps is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that we do not control.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BlockMyApps changes or as legal requirements evolve.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
